The design

Venue, suppliers, styling and timing drawn up as a single plan. You see every line and approve it before anything is booked.

Stuey is there from the first delivery to the last guest, holding the plan together so that nobody in the room has to think about it.

Stuey's own wedding. A lakeside ceremony under a stunning floral canopy. Canapé hour with a six-piece black tie band and florals in full colour. A dining room of long tables draped in blooms, a personal note on the botanical menu at every setting. The dance floor out on the deck, under festoons, by the lake. It was perfection.

Stuart Fayman

For fifteen years I've watched weddings and parties from behind the decks. It's the best seat in the house — you see the exact moment a room lets go. But you also see everything that had to go right to get there, and everything that quietly didn't.

That's what pulled me into event management.

I spent ten years with one of Australia's best events and entertainment companies, learning how a night is actually built. Fifteen years DJing and working alongside musicians taught me how to read a room and run a run sheet. More than a decade working with AV companies means I speak lighting, sound and staging fluently. And four years on the hospitality side with caterers showed me what's happening in the kitchen while the guests are dancing.

So when something goes sideways on event day — and something always does — odds are I've seen it before. I don't stress. That's not a personality trait, it's experience. Your job is to enjoy your night. The problem-solving is mine.

Here's the real reason I do this. People are at their happiest at a beautifully run event. There's something about being spoiled by your hosts that brings out the best in everyone. Watching guests move through that journey — from arrival to the last song — is my favourite thing in the world.
